Professional Background
I loved English at school, and later went on to take an Honours Degree in Film and Media, graduating in 1991. Although I had dreams of working in TV or film, some how I fell into London’s media and marketing world that was at that time beginning to spread out to EC1. My first office was in Old Street, in an old warehouse studio, just below Magnum Photos. Within a few years I had set up my own marketing agency that was later acquired by a US firm in early 00s.

Discovering Spain
My first visit to Andalucia was in the ’90s and I was seduced by the landscape, culture and cuisine of Southern Spain. Inspired to find a Mediterranean holiday retreat from England’s crowded south east, I took the opportunity to renovate a small Cortijo in the foothills of Andalucia’a Sierra de las Nieves mountains.

I have now since made Spain my home, with my home office studio close to the Mediterranean city of Marbella, with inspirational views of the sea and  the Sierra Nevada mountains- The move really gave me the impetus to develop my freelance writing and photography. The country makes an ideal base of my marketing consultancy. I work better in the laid back Mediterranean lifestyle but thankfully have Malaga airport (now Spain’s biggest non hub airport) close by with almost 30 flights a day to the UK.

Personal Services
With a strong business background in media & marketing in the UK, I really enjoy taking corporate & commercial freelance writing commissions, and consulting work. My professional expertise has included roles as the former marketing manager for a French high technology company, creative director at an international communication and motivation company and of course my years of running my own boutique marketing and graphic design agency.

In terms of freelance writing & photography, I contribute photography, articles, reviews and features to European magazines on the subjects of architecture, design, interiors, property and travel.

I am passionate about aesthetics and I am keenly interested in interior design and really enjoy creating a new style when I move into a new home. I’ve also tried my hand at garden design for a few of the properties I have owned over the few years in the UK.

In my spare time I love to indulge in tapas and red wine in Ronda or in Marbella’s old town;  post comments or photos on my blogs, take informal snap shots of day to day life; hike or cycle in Andalucia’s natural parks; eat and drink with friends; take weekends in London to see an exhibition – or simply chill out at home.
