The Honeymoon Testers
September 7th, 2010
Melía’s La Quinta Spa and Golf Resort is many people’s dream location for a wedding. Mark and Denise Duffield-Thomas arrived there this week to renew their wedding vows, after a year of marriage.
Celebrating a first wedding anniversary is an important milestone, and usually one of the most special for a couple. It’s a chance to reflect on that all important first year together, where typically reality with all its challenges, such as sharing a home together, earning a living and spending time with the in-laws, can sometimes make the honeymoon seem a distant memory.
Well, that is not the case with Mark and Denise, who were married in August 2009. Their feet have barely touched the ground since getting hitched a year ago; in fact they have travelled the globe and have renewed their vows over 40 times during the last few months in ceremonies and honeymoons across the planet. The ceremony at La Quinta was number 46! Why? Because Mark and Denise have the ‘ultimate job in the world’; they are the ‘Honeymoon Testers’.

David Carter – Singer/Songwriter

David Patrick Carter talks candidly to me about his passions and ambitions. His first studio album in 1997 was a selection of original songs produced by
garage maestros ‘Artful Dodger’; whilst his second album ‘The Van Demon’ was made with celebrated world music producer Colin Smith. David also recorded, in the renowned Sunset Studios in Cape Town, his live acoustic album ‘The Sunset Sessions’.
Marilyn Powell

Here is an interview with Marilyn Powell, who lives between the UK & Spain. She was a well known face in the sixties with frequent TV appearances on ‘Thank your lucky stars’, ‘The Simon Dee Show’, ‘5 o’clock club’, and ‘Scene at 6.30’ with Michael Parkinson, amongst many other shows of the time. Her first hit, ‘All my Loving’ has its place in history as the first female cover of a Beatles record. Marilyn’s music is experiencing a renaissance, reaching both a familiar and new audience with the release of a new album of her singles, ‘Marilyn Powell Singles 1964-1970’.
